At the beginning of summer, a call for applicants was requested by the American Baptist Home Mission Society (ABHMS) and American Baptist Foundation (ABF) to submit proposal for the creation of new ministries for 2018-2019 funding period. Under the guidance of Nextgen church’s lead pastor, the Epostlenaut Multimedia Ministry applied for Palmer grant funding. The Virginia and Gordon Palmer Jr. Trust was created in 1999 as a permanent endowment to ABF.
We were excited to receive the news that our ministry had received a $10,000 grant alongside 27 other worthy recipients from across the United States. A total of $538,889 in grants from the Virginia and Gordon Palmer Jr. Trust was awarded by ABF during the ABHMS 2018 grant cycle. The theme of “Transformational and Formational Ministries” were focused on two areas—“Creative Faith Formation” and “Healing Ministries. Ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, the awards will fund special projects and programs that best demonstrate the theme “Alternative Models for Developing Mission and Ministry.”
